Lift your voice with ‘The Sound of Music: Sing-A-Long’ Sunday night

Noah Solloway (Dominic West) has really put it all on the line, telling his wife, Helen (Maura Tierney) that he is living a lie by staying married. When we last saw him, Noah was standing on the Long Island Railroad platform, thinking that his lover, Alison (Ruth Wilson), would rush into his arms — only to find her boarding the next New York City-bound train. Meanwhile, truculent pregnant teen Whitney Solloway (Julia Goldani Telles) has disappeared and Helen is all over Noah, Alison and the trashy Lockhart family. Det. Jeffries (Victor Williams) makes significant progress on the Scotty Lockhart (Colin Donnell) murder case.

A faithful 1938 version of the Charles Dickens classic about Ebenezer Scrooge (Reginald Owen) who, after being visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve, learns the meaning of the spirit of the holiday. Real-life husband and wife Gene and Kathleen Lockhart play Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cratchit, and their daughter June Lockhart (“Lassie,” “Lost in Space”) co-stars as a Cratchit daughter.

Charlie (Katherine Heigl) heads to Qatar with Maureen (Sheila Vand) and President Payton (Alfre Woodard) for a diplomatic mission, but the standard trip turns disastrous. Meanwhile, a direct link to Omar Fatah (Farshad Farahat) is tracked; a masked man interrogates Nick (Chris L. McKenna); and Charlie desperately tries to remember details about the convoy attack.

The one Christmas movie you never tire of. Jimmy Stewart had his most famous role as George Bailey, a banker who learns what life would have been like if he’d never been born after he unwittingly becomes involved in a mistaken case of fraud. Co-starring Donna Reed.

The 1965 Best Picture Oscar winner tells the story of how the Von Trapp family escaped pre-World War II Austria. The timeless score includes “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain” and the title song. Starring the glorious Julie Andrews, the only star audiences will accept in this role.

After many nominations, Jeff Bridges (above) finally won a Best Actor Oscar in 2010 for his portrayal of a country music star and boozehound who saw his career go down the drain and is now touring bowling alleys and bars. His life takes a 180-degree turn when he falls in love with a journalist (Maggie Gyllenhaal) and gets a call from a superstar protégé who asks him to write a new song. With Colin Farrell and Robert Duvall.

The one and only. Even though this Dr. Seuss story was filmed with Jim Carrey, the original animated cartoon is superior in every way. The Whos, creatures who like nothing better than Christmas, encounter the evil Grinch, who has a heart two sizes too small and who plans to steal the holiday. Boris Karloff narrates this 1966 classic.
