Govt mulls imposing ban on Altaf’s live TV address

6:30 AM

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to take legal action against MQM chief Altaf Hussain for his provocations against the army, sources confided to ARY News here.
Sources told that Pakistan Electronic Media and Regulatory Authority (Pemra) could also come under legal action as no censor was imposed by the Pemra on inciting speeches of MQM chief during his live addresses in recent days.

It is learnt that federal government institutions are contemplating to impose ban on live address of MQM chief.

The authorities have also sought reply of Pemra for legal aspects in connection to imposing ban on Mr. Hussain’s TV address.

The MQM chief, in his address to workers last night, had said “why the forces who surrendered during 1971 war are labelled as patriots, and why MQM is being termed agenct of RAW.”
