Misty Upham belonged to the Blackfoot Tribe
Misty Upham was a Native American who belonged to the Blackfoot tribe.
The tribe got its name because of the dark-coloured moccasins worn by its members.
There are believed to be 25,000 Blackfoots remaining today, 10,000 in the United States and 15,000 in Canada.

Animal rights campaign group PETA has paid tribute to Misty Upham following her death.
Founder Ingrid E Newkirk said: "The world will be a colder place without Misty's warm heart, and she will be sorely missed at PETA.
"She was extremely kind and cared deeply about animals; constantly calling for protection for the bears suffering in roadside zoos on tribal land, a call we will carry forward in her honour.
"It's a tragedy whenever anyone dies before their time, but Misty Upham was a friend to us and to animals everywhere."

Police statement following discovery of Misty Upham's body
Misty Upham's disappearance was being investigated by Auburn Police Department.
A statement on its Facebook page read: "It took nearly five hours for the Auburn Police Department and the Valley Regional Fire Authority crews to recover the body of a deceased person from a wooded area near the White River in Auburn.
"The body was discovered near Forest Ridge Dr. and has now been turned over the King County Medical Examiner for positive identification and a determination of cause of death.
"Because a purse containing identification of Misty Upham was at the scene the body is presumed to be that of Upham.
"Because a purse containing identification of Misty Upham was at the scene the body is presumed to be that of Upham.
"The Auburn Police Department states that there is no initial evidence or information to indicate foul play; however the Medical Examiner will make the final determination.
"The body was discovered by a person related to a search party that had been assembled by the Upham family that was in the area searching for her.

Misty Upham's final Twitter post
Misty Upham was on Twitter although she wasn't a particularly prolific tweeter.
Her account was set up in May 2009 and at the time of her death she had tweeted 2,494 times.
Her final post was on October 2.
It showed a photo of a dead bird tied to a tree on the Muckleshoot Reservation near Seattle.
The accompanying message read: "Barbaric.
"Little bird I found tied by it's (sic) leg on Muckleshoot reservation."
Nominated for an award for her role in crime drama
Misty Upham was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her supporting role in 2008 crime drama Frozen River.
The film tells the story of Ray Eddy, an upstate New York trailer mum, who smuggles illegal immigrants from Canada into the United States over a Mohawk Indian Reservation.

Misty Upham - a brief biography
Misty Anne Upham was born in Kallispell, Montana, but grew up in south Seattle, the fourth of five children.
At college she studied Latin and medieval and early renaissance art and history.
Her acting break came in 2001 when she landed the role of Mrs Blue Cloud in Chris Eyre's 2002 flick Skins in which she portrayed a victim of domestic abuse.
She lived in Los Angeles before returning to Seattle to care for her sick father.

Misty Upham also has a role in the upcoming Jennifer Aniston drama film Cake.

Misty's father confirms body is hers
Misty Upham's father has reportedly confirmed that the body found in the ravine is that of his daughter.
The Hollywood Reporter identifies filmmaker Tracy Rector, a long-time friend of the actress, as the source of the information.
The website also reports Ms Rector saying it was Misty's uncle who found her corpse.

Body found by family friend
The body was found by a friend of Misty Upham's family who had been searching the area, about 30km south of Seattle.
The actress' father Charles Upham previously told radio station KIRO-FM his daughter was upset and erratic and had stopped taking medication for anxiety and bipolar disorder.
She had moved to the area to help care for her father, who is recovering from a stroke.
Actress' purse found near the body
Police found items including Ms Upham's purse near the body.
The corpse is believed to be that of the actress.
However, officials are waiting for the medical examiner to make a formal identification and determine the cause of the person's death.
