SAN JOSE — The Winnipeg Jets still don’t know when Evander Kane might be available to return to their lineup.
Kane had further examination on what is believed to be a right knee injury on Thursday, but the full results of the tests weren’t available when Jets head coach Paul Maurice met with reporters after practice and no update is expected until Friday morning.
Maurice isn’t expecting Kane back for the duration of this three-game road trip.
“I don’t know that, but my expectation is no,” said Maurice. “I would not list him as day-to-day right now and we’ll go from there.”
Kane sustained the injury on his second shift of the season as he was involved in a knee-on-knee collision with linemate Mark Scheifele.
Although Kane came back for one more shift, he left the contest in the first period and didn’t return, finishing with three shifts for a minute and 24 seconds of ice time.
The Jets, who are 1-0, after defeating the Arizona Coyotes 6-2 on Thursd
