EXCLUSIVE! Transgender TV Host And Blogger B. Scott Reacts After Settling Discrimination Lawsuit With BET/Viacom

9:42 PM
B.Scott settles BET lawsuit.

At long last this discrimination lawsuit has been settled, and we have to applaud B. Scott for seeing it all the way through!
The transgender TV personality and blogger was engaged in a two-year-long battle with BET/Viacom for engaging in discrimination against gender identity and gender expression against him at the BET Awards back in 2013.

B.Scott was hired to host the red carpet pre-show for the network, but was forced to change into more "masculine" clothing and to remove his makeup. In the end he was replaced by Adrienne Bailon even after complying with the network's demands.
Later, emails from BET's president of music programming Stephen Hill and vice president Rhonda Cowan were released detailing how they didn't want B. Scott to be his true self during the show.
Even more damning was the email from Monique Ware, a senior director for the network, that revealed plans to lie about the whole thing!
Luckily it's all over now, and while details of the settlement have not been revealed, B. Scott has given us this EXCLUSIVE statement about the matter:
"I'm proud to have been able to turn a negative into a positive for the entire transgender community. Let this be a sign of encouragement for all those continuously striving to be who they are."
We're sure it was a tough battle, but it's so commendable that B. Scott didn't back down when we can only imagine how difficult it must've been to stand up to such a powerful company.
We completely agree that this is a positive sign of encouragement for others facing similar discrimination!
